Barbara joined the management Committee of AIBC 2015. She is an experienced and qualified
executive and held a number of senior roles. Barbara worked extensively in the areas of finance,
audit, business administration, strategy, fundraising/capital campaign, welfare services,
humanitarian aid, human resources, state & local government and management consulting. She is
the former Chair of Charities Awareness and Committee for Charities Act review.
Over more than two decades in the Not For Profit sector, Barbara is the former Managing Director of
San Foundation where she raised $23m for San Integrated Cancer Centre in three years. She has also
raised millions of dollars for worthy causes, particularly in the aged and health care sectors, and has
developed and implemented sustainable programs that have changed lives for the better. Her
previous roles include CEO of Anglican Retirement Villages Foundation, AustCare and Marist
Community Services, Financial Controller at Lane Cove Council and Corporate Services Director at
NSW Crime Commission.
She is a former President of Fundraising Institute of Australia and is a Fellow, she was honored with
the ‘Ku-ring- gai Local Woman of the Year 2017” and Gem of Ku Ring- Gai award in recognition of her
outstanding contribution and service to the community and health sector amongst many other
awards. Earlier this year was awarded Excellence in Community Service on Australia Day.
Barbara sits on a number of Boards both nationally and overseas and is the past National President
of Nutrition Australia and is President of Nutrition Australia NSW, SHARE Inc – Building Healthier
Communities and Lupus Association. She also sits on the board of Lifeline, Studio Artes and A, Lupus
International, Australian Community Inspired Ass, NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation, NeuRa Falls
Prevention and South Asian Fundraising.
