NSW, ACT State Premiers welcome Indian High Commissioner at AIBC events; Welcome Roundtable in WA

AIBC hosted events in Sydney, Canberra and Perth in February to welcome Mr Gopal Baglay, the new Indian High Commissioner in Australia. In Sydney, the event also welcomed Dr S Janakiraman, the Indian Consul General for Sydney and South Australia.

Chris Minns, NSW Premier and Andrew Barr, ACT Chief Minister,were present at the occasions in Sydney and Canberra which were both held at the respective State Parliament buildings.

Also present in Sydney were Julian Leeser, co-chair – Parliamentary Friends of India and Member for Berowra; Warren Kirby, co-chair NSW Parliamentary Friends of India and Member for Riverstone; and Charishma Kaliyanda, Member for Liverpool. In Canberra, Peter Cain, who holds several portfolios including shadow treasurer, was also present.

A business roundtable was held at Perth, where Mr Baglay emphasised his dedication to enhancing collaboration and engagement
