AIBC Vic makes cricketing history! Feb 13, 2019

Revered, by players and fans alike, Boxing Day at the hallowed turf of the MCG carries the greatest weight of expectation, and 2018 delivered in spades. For the first time ever, India’s first 11 led by Virat Kohli, clinched victory in a toughly fought contest against the home side. History was made as it marked the first time India had claimed a Boxing Day Test Match after 71 years of valiant attempts, so too this was the first ever Border – Gavaskar trophy win for India as visitors.. Ever.

The Victorian Chapter of the AIBC played host to some 50 distinguished dignitaries and guests, at the finest private enclosure at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Spear headed by AIBC’s newly appointed Chair of Health and Sports, Associate Professor Vinay S Rane, the AIBC event was attended by former premier The Hon Ted Baillieu, former Australian Test Player, Team Coach and cricketing great, Mr Darren Lehmann. Also in attendance were Mr Harish Rao, former AIBC National Chairman and current Victorian AIBC President, Mr Chris Mooney.
