AIBC stresses the importance of Queensland-India Trade

The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) would like to bring to the attention of all parties participating in the Queensland elections, the importance of trade between Queensland and India.

Dr Nik Senapati, AIBC President (Queensland) said “the importance of the Queensland-India trade is highlighted by the fact that Queensland is the State with the largest trade with India. Also, Queensland is the State which has the largest Indian investments in the country.”

As highlighted in the Australia Indian Economic Strategy 2035 report Education, Resources, Agriculture and ICT remain the key areas of trade. However, with the changing world trade relationships, India is growing as an important supply chain partner.

In early December, the AIBC and AsiaLink Business have invited the elected Premier and the leader of the opposition to present their India-Queensland trade vision. AIBC looks forward to facilitating this discussion.

AIBC being the premier National business body that focuses on Australia-India trade is confident that Queensland will continue growing its relationship with India.
