Design thinking has deep roots in a global conversation that has been unfolding for decades. Today, design thinking has become common parlance in many industries and disciplines in India. The approach need to percolate deep down in the SMEs and Startups of our country. With the view to sensitize the Indian stakeholders the benefit of investing in design, CII in collaboration with World Design Organization is organizing “Design Talk Series” supported by NMIMS – School of Design. We will invite global stalwarts from USA, Japan, EU, South Korea, Netherlands, Australia, etc to share their journey and experience with Indian audience to learn and gain insights from.

The third talk of the series will feature Prof. Andreas Schneider, Founding Member, Institute of Information Design – Japan and Professor at University of the Arts Berlin, Tama Art University Tokyo, and the Institute for Advanced Sciences Arts and Media – JAMAS, in Gifu Prefecture- Japan, in conversation with Prof. Manisha Phadke, Director, NMIMS School of Design.
Andreas Schneider is a founding member of the Institute for Information Design Japan – HD, where he has been involved in the planning, design, and editing of publications on information design, urbanism, architecture, and mobility since 1999. Over the years he has been invited as a visiting faculty, lecturer and curator of symposia and workshops by the National Institute for Design India, Asian Creative Academy Seoul, Helwan University Cairo, Kadir Has University and Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey, Aalto University Helsinki, Waseda University Tokyo, Kyushu University Fukuoka and others. He has a long-standing interest in developing tools for structured thinking that support practice and complement education.
The talk will primarily focus on sharing experiences from his journey in the field of Design and insights on the tools he has developed for structured thinking that support practice and augment education.
