Dear AIBC member,
The AIBC Board would like to thank the current AIBC Victoria Chapter Committee Members who have completed their 2 year term recently. The Board extends its appreciation to all the AIBC VIC Chapter Committee Members, President, Vice President and State Treasurer for their contribution recognising the voluntary nature of these roles.
It may be pertinent to share that the AIBC election process involves inviting the Australian Electoral Commission to conduct its elections in all States upwards of 100 members.
These two States are primarily NSW & Victoria. When the AEC advises its inability to hold elections due to their workload, AIBC invites Computershare a reputed public listed company to conduct the elections as an independent body.
The AIBC has recently appointed Computershare to conduct the AIBC Victoria Chapter Committee State election for a 2 year term commencing from June 2018.
Election notices were sent by Computershare to all eligible, fully paid and valid voters of AIBC Victoria Chapter. The results have been announced by Computershare of the 5 nominations received for the 5 positions, hence eliminating the need for an further election. Please see the following provisions of the AIBC constitution listed below, in reference to inviting expressions of interest for Chapter Committee Members 11(c) (ii)
"11.2 Number of Chapter Committee Members
(a) The total number of Chapter Committee Members for each State Chapter will be such number (being not less than 5 and not more than 9) as determined by the Board from time to time.
(b) Subject to any membership restrictions that may apply to a Member as set out in clause 6, any Member may nominate for election to their relevant Chapter Committee in accordance with the Policies and Procedures Manual in place from time to time.

(i) up to 5 Chapter Committee Members elected in accordance with this clause 11 and the Policies and Procedures Manual; and
(ii) up to 4 Chapter Committee Members appointed by the Board on the basis of their requisite skill set."
I am therefore pleased to invite expressions of interest in accordance with 11 (c) (ii) from Australian business leaders and senior executives of companies that have an established track record in business to business undertakings between Victoria and India to be appointed as a member of the Victorian management Committee. The successful candidate will be eligible to vote for office bearers in the Victorian Chapter including President, Vice President and Treasurer.
