Indu Balachandran – NSW State Management Committee Member
Indu Balachandran has over 20 years of experience in innovation and leadership in the Indigenous, arts and community development sectors. Her work has been recognised by the UTS Human Rights Award for Reconciliation, and as Fellow of the Global Atlantic Fellowship for Social Equity.
Indu has held executive positions in the community and social enterprise sectors for over 10 years, and is currently Director of Strategic Support at the Aboriginal Housing Office in NSW Government. Her previous roles were at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence and Social Ventures Australia.
Indu brings a mix of commercial experience, social justice work, and community engagement. She is a cultural producer and performer in the Indian Carnatic tradition. Indu holds a Master of Economics (Social Science, Research), a Bachelor of Business (Honours), and is currently completing her Master of Social Change Leadership. Indu is also an accredited practitioner with Social value International and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
