1986AIBC (Australia India Business Council) was set up following recognition of the enormous trade potential between the countries by the Prime Ministers of the day, Bob Hawke of Australia and Rajiv Gandhi of India
1996A decade later, a visit to India by then Prime Minister John Howard, accompanied by a high level delegation, marked resurgence in the Australian Government’s commitment to strengthening bi-lateral relations between the two nations
2007The largest ever delegation from Australia to India, led by the Australian Government’s Minister for Trade followed for the Joint Ministerial Business Council Meeting held at New Delhi
2013At present, the two-way trade exceeds $23Bn per year, as the two nations head full tilt for the commercial ties that bind
2014AIBC Chairman was invited to join Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s CEO delegation to India in August. AIBC National Vice Chair in her capacity as CEO MultiConnexions was also invited to join the CEO delegation.
