Shaping the future of Australia India Trade – Australia India Business Council Ltd (AIBC) establishes Australia India Business Enterprise (AIBE) to convert opportunities to commercial outcomes.

The AIBC, founded in 1986, is the only national body representing bi-lateral trade and investment relations between Australia and India. The AIBC is a not-for-profit national membership organisation and its vision is to be an active voice, involved in policy and advocacy roles to promote and enhance the bilateral Australia-India business and trade relationship as well as provide education and information about Australia-India trade-related opportunities.

India is the right partner for Australia and Australian businesses must look to India as a market to supply than a market for consumption. The partnership between Australia and India will generate trade in many sectors. Two-way trade in goods and services has grown in value from $13.6 billion in 2007 to $24.3 billion in 2020 and the rate of growth will continue to rise with Government (G2G) and Business to Business (B2B) engagements. Cooperation and Collaboration will contribute to the success of business-to-business engagements and bilateral investments.

Many opportunities have been identified for B2B Engagements through several collaborative webinars and events organised by AIBC in the last year with many organisations and industry partners and experts led by several Industry chapters such as the Agribusiness Chapter, Corporate Chapter, Digital Chapter, Education and Skills Development Chapter, Healthcare Chapter, Make in India Chapter, Infrastructure Chapter, Energy Chapter, Start-ups and Innovation Chapter and Women in Business Chapter.

To effectively focus on such growing opportunities and outcomes, AIBC, with a resilient “back to business” approach has established a dedicated new business Australia India Business Enterprise (AIBE). It is intended that the new business enterprise will generate financial benefits for its members and AIBC as an organisation.

This new enterprise, AIBE, will super-energise AIBC and take it to the next level from promotion and engagement to converting deals. AIBE will be used to manage the deal flow and end to end facilitation of business between India and Australia and improve brand image of both countries, in both countries.

A Business Enterprise Working Group (BEWG) has been formed to manage the new enterprise. The BEWG members are:
Con Livissianis – Agribusiness Chapter Chair (Chair of BEWG)
Sheba Nandkeolyar – Immediate Past Chair AIBC and current Women in Business Chapter Chair
Vish Viswanathan – Make in India Chapter Chair
Irfan Malik – President AIBC NSW
Vineet Aggarwal – International Business Consultant

The newly joined member of the BEWG, Sheba Nandkeolyar, will add significant business experience and provide a balanced view from her experience as a Director and Chair of AIBC and current position as the Women in Business Chapter Chair.

Active Support and participation from broader AIBC members and stakeholders will be the key to achieve significant commercial outcomes for the new Business Enterprise AIBE.
