The Australia India Business Council Ltd NSW Chapter held a farewell dinner for Dr A. M. Gondane, the outgoing High Commissioner of India and Mrs Varsha Gondane, on Monday 16 September at Manjit's on the Wharf Restaurant, Sydney
The event, jointly hosted by AIBC NSW and NASSCOM, was well attended and guests included Mr Manish Gupta, Consul General India, Sydney and Mrs Nimisha Gupta; Chandru
Appar, Deputy Consul General, Sydney; Neville Roach, AIBC Chairman Emeritus, Sheba Nandkeolyar, CEO Multiconnesions; Rohit Pathak, NASSCOM President; AIBC sponsors, members and business leaders.
Speaking at the dinner, Dr Gondane said the Indian community had gained great respect over the years in multicultural Australia.
“It is a matter of time before the community will be involved in decision making rather than being just service providers.
“When I came here, I was a seeker for information. The community has given more than I want. I wish you all success personally and professionally,” he added.
