40th Anniversary Gala Dinner – AIA NSW

Celebrating 40 Years of Australia–India Business Connections!

What an extraordinary milestone! It was a privilege to gather in Sydney on 16 October 2026 for a wonderful celebration marking the exact date of the foundation of Australia India Business Council and its inception on 16 October 1986.

This event was a key highlight in the AIBC 40th celebration series, which kicked off with the Bank of New South Wales Australia India Address. There was an electric sense of excitement and celebration throughout the room as business leaders, former chairs of state committees, and distinguished guests gathered to honour four decades of growth, partnership, and shared achievement.

It was fantastic to see key stakeholders—including the CEO of the Centre for Australia-India Relations (CAIR), the Consulate General of India in Sydney, our generous sponsors, business partners, and our keynote speaker, come together to make the evening an unforgettable success, reflecting how the Australia–India relationship has reached inspiring new heights.

A sincere thank you to our keynote speaker, Jessica Olivier, Partner and Lead of RSM Australia’s R&D Tax and Government Incentives practice, for her valuable contributions and insights.

An insightful panel discussion further highlighted the emerging opportunities under the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), showcasing how it has simplified and eased doing business between the two nations. The panelist echoing these sentiments, emphasised the crucial role of deepening Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) engagements to drive future economic collaboration.

Reflecting on the evening, the AIBC NSW President shared:
“A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors and partners for their generous support in making AIBC’s 40th Anniversary Gala in Sydney a memorable success. Your commitment to strengthening Australia–India business relationships is deeply appreciated.”

A special thank you to the legendary Chef Sanjeev Kapoor for curating an exceptional culinary experience, bringing the rich flavours of India to our celebration and making the evening truly special.

We are grateful to everyone who supported us in bringing this milestone celebration to life.

Our National Chair also extended a heartfelt acknowledgment to all AIBC members both past and present including all the former Chairs.
