Dr Sonal Nakar is Vice President of the Australasian Vocational Education and Training Research Association (AVETRA) and Senior Lecturer at Griffith University’s School of Education and Professional Studies. As Queensland Representative on the AIBC National Taskforce, she advances bilateral education and skills partnerships between Australia and India, serving as key personnel for protocol and governance in the AIBC’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Dr Nakar’s research addresses ethical decision-making in vocational education, workforce casualisation, and AI-augmented teacher education, with her work informing national policy on tertiary workforce conditions. She maintains active research collaborations across Germany, France, the United Kingdom, India, Korea, and South Africa, and supervises higher degree research students through their doctoral journeys. She holds an Honorary Adjunct Professor position at Jai Hind Institute of Commerce, Mumbai, reflecting her strategic commitment to strengthening Australia-India educational ties through sustained research partnership and knowledge exchange.
