The Australia India Business Council, in conjunction with Queensland Cricket, The Institute for Australia India Engagement and the Indian Medical Association of Queensland hosted Indian cricket legend, Sunil Gavaskar at the Stamford Plaza Hotel Brisbane, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his test debut. The sold out, invitation-only, event was attended by over 100 people
The initiative was led by Dr Ashutosh Misra, AIBC National Sports Industry Chapter Chair, who invited Mr Gavaskar and galvanised the support of event partners and community members.
Mr Gavaskar shared memories of his first tour to Australia and his fiery encounters with Australian greats Jeff Thompson and Dennis Lillee
