Congratulations to our #Queensland Chapter for a spectacular #Diwali Gala Dinner and #Year-End Celebration with over 150 attendees in #Brisbane last Friday.

·   The Governor of Queensland, the Honourable Dr. Jeannette Young AC
PSM
·   The Consul General of India to Queensland, Neetu Bhagotia
·   The Lord Mayor of Brisbane, The Right Honourable, Councillor Adrian Schrinner

Also celebrating the occasion – Diwali and an outstanding year for the AIBC
nationally and in Queensland – were AIBC hashtag#Members and hashtag#Partners – government and industry leaders, professionals and diaspora.

A shoutout to Platinum Sponsor, Singapore Airlines for their support in Queensland; and table sponsors – The University of Queensland, RSM, @Metamorph Varuna Biotechnology, and AnteoTech Ltd

The Queensland Governor, Her Excellency Dr Jeannette Young, AC PSM, spoke
about her official travel to hashtag#India earlier this year, where she engaged with leaders in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru to strengthen Queensland’s global profile and highlight Queensland-India hashtag#collaboration opportunities across innovation, health, education and infrastructure.

Indian Consul General, Ms Neetu Bhagotia spotlighted India’s hashtag#growth trajectory and opportunities for Queensland businesses, while
mentioning key developments in the Queensland-India partnership during 2025.

The Right Honourable Lord Mayor, Councillor Adrian Schrinner spoke about strong engagement with the growing Indian community in Brisbane and warm Diwali wishes to all attendees.

AIBC Queensland President, Namrata Datt, highlighted several hashtag#high-impact
bilateral programs delivered by AIBC in 2025 for state members, including those featuring the State Premier, Indian High Commissioner, Ministers and senior officials from both countries. Our Queensland Chapter held as many as 10 events during the year, comprising conferences, industry roundtables and networking for members. Namrata reflected upon the diaspora’s contribution to the Australian economy.

No Diwali celebration would be complete without hashtag#Bollywood, sumptuous food and the traditional element of wishing good luck – the Dance Masala troupe showcased a high-energy performance; Stamford Plaza Brisbane’s Indian cuisine was highly appreciated; and the exclusive hamper from Singapore Airlines added to the excitement. Committee member and event MC Sorabh Kataria kept the evening engaging and fun!

Thank you to all AIBC members an our government and industry partners in
Queensland, Trade and Investment Queensland and Business Chamber Queensland for joining the celebration!

Kudos to the Queensland Committee for pulling together a grand celebration, with support provided by Kritika Bansal and event volunteers!
