AIBC and the City of Perth joined hands to host an outstanding Australia-India Address in Perth on 23 August 2023, The Hon Stephen Dawson, Minister for Emergency Services, Innovation and the Digital Economy, Science and Medical Research, delivered the keynote address on the building blocks of WA’s engagement with India.
The event saw over 120 participants from government, industry, and academia. The evening also included talks from Basil Zempilas, the Lord Mayor of Perth and Amarjeet Singh Takhi, the Consul General of India in WA.
The panel discussion, moderated by Neema Premji, WA state committee member, and featuring Faz Pollard, MD Adarsh Australia, Noelene Murray, CEO Perdaman Global Services and Ram Kuppusamy, Founder & CEO of Space Angel resonated with participants for its practical insights.
Speakers emphasised opportunities across a large range of sectors such as defence, space,
critical minerals, renewable energy, technology and innovation, and international education.
Perth’s iconic Council House, the headquarters of the City of Perth and the venue for the event, looked magnificent in the colours of the Indian flag, setting the right tone for the evening. The grand finale was the live screening of the final moments of the moon landing, filling the room with awe, inspiration, hope and optimism for the future.
