Australia – India Opportunity
The Australia India Business Council (AIBC)Queensland Chapter hosted a landmark business roundtable at the Consulate General of India in Brisbane, and it delivered exactly what we hoped for: real conversations between real decision-makers.
Thirty-five senior Indian business leaders, founders, chairmen and CEOs, joined us as part of a delegation organised by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), one of India’s oldest and most respected apex business organisations. Queensland businesses engaged across three focused breakout groups:
Mining and energy
Engineering, manufacturing and construction
Food, consumer goods, health and digital
A huge thank you to the Consulate General of India in Brisbane for so generously hosting us, and to the FICCI delegation for making the journey and engaging with such openness and intent.
Special thanks to AIBC Queensland President Dr Sonal Nakar for her leadership in bringing this event to life, Vice President Sulal Mathai and the Queensland Committee for their support on the ground, and Jinendra Khara for his generous support of the incoming Committee. Thank you also to every Queensland business that took the time to participate!
What made yesterday special wasn’t just who was in the room. It was what happened inside it. Sector by sector, conversation by conversation, Queensland and Indian business leaders found common ground, identified shared opportunities, and began building the kind of relationships that lead somewhere.
The Australia-India trade and investment relationship is one of the most significant bilateral opportunities of this decade. Events like yesterday’s roundtable are how that potential becomes progress, one conversation at a time.
