Kiren Chitkara is the Company Secretary and National Associate Vice Chair of the Australia India Business Council (AIBC).

 

Kiren is a solicitor by profession and currently works as a Legal Writer of Practical Guidance Succession law at LexisNexis Australia. Kiren is originally from the UK having completed her law degree and Corporate and Commercial LLM in the UK and then completed her Diploma in Law and Practical Legal Training in Australia. 

 

Kiren has worked in large corporate international firms in both the UK and Australia as well as trustee companies and multidisciplinary firms in Australia. Kiren has worked on general commercial matters and succession law, including in multiple jurisdictions in Australia. Kiren has significant experience in estate planning, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, estate administration and probate, VCAT actions, superannuation, and aged care. 

 

Kiren has been involved in the AIBC for 15 years, having worked with the ACT Chapter Committee and now in the National Board. 

 

Kiren has had always advocated for Indian and multicultural affairs having also been on the committee of the Canberra India Council, a regular MC at the Canberra Multicultural Festival and recently she has also founded a not for profit organisation South Asians in the East in Melbourne to celebrate South Asian Culture.
