Neetu Bhaagotia is first Indian Consul General in Brisbane

AIBC welcomes Neetu Bhaagotia as the first Consul General of India in Brisbane.

The announcement for a Consulate General of India in Brisbane had been made by the Indian Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, on his visit to Australia in May 2023. Queensland has a rapidly growing Indian diaspora and is fast expanding its trade and investment relationship with India.

Australia India Business Council also thanks and acknowledges the contributions of Mrs Archana Singh, who has been the Honorary Indian Consul General in Brisbane for over a decade.

Ms Bhaagotia is an officer of the Indian Foreign Service. She has served as a diplomat in the Indian Missions in Russia and Bhutan, in addition to key roles at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, India. Most recently, she was the Regional Passport Officer in Jaipur, responsible for passport and consular services in the state of Rajasthan.

AIBC wishes Ms Bhaagotia and Ms Singh happiness and success in their new journey!
