NSW AIECTA Roadshow

AIBC joined hands with Investment NSW, DFAT and Business NSW in engaging with businesses in the Hunter and Illawarra regions. The multi-city roadshows were also held in Sydney and Parramatta. About 500 people participated in the four roadshows, demonstrating the interest in the bilateral corridor.

There are significant opportunities for regional and rural businesses under the agreement as highlighted by Chief DFAT Negotiator Frances Lisson PSM, Malini Dutt, Director – Trade & Investment, Invest NSW and Richard Emerson-Elliott, DFAT’s Deputy Chief Negotiator – AI-ECTA.

Experiences from businesses and organisations who are already actively engaged with the Indian market were shared by Mark Swinnerton, CEO, Green Gravity, Alex Frino, University of Wollongong and AirPhysio Pty Ltd CEO Pau; O’Brien.

The Hunter and Illawarra regions are two of Australia’s largest regional economies, with strong industry footprints and innovative and scalable businesses aligned with key #AICTA sectors including resources and mining equipment technology, agribusiness, healthcare & medtech, education, advanced manufacturing, clean energy and defence. There was a warm welcome from the University of Newcastle and City of Newcastle, Australia, Deputy Lord Mayor Declan Clausen at the Newcastle roadshow and University of Wollongong & Wollongong City Council Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery AM at the Wollongong roadshow.
