Spotlight on Queensland’s India Strategy

AIBC National Chair, Jodi McKay and our Queensland President, Nik Senapati have participated in the consultation process with Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment, Cameron Dick on the state’s new India Engagement Strategy.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk also attended a special event with PM Modi in Sydney. “It was my honour to represent Queensland at last night’s very important meeting with PM Modi. We have a special relationship with India which will play a vital role in our future,” she said.

The new strategy is a refresh of the 2018-2023 plan which was successful in assisting Queensland businesses engage with India. The new strategy will grow Queensland’s presence and profile, and foster relationships, business development and investment.

Select AIBC Industry Chapters have also been part of the industrywide consultations for the strategy.

Queensland’s exports to India are greater than any other Australian state and India is Queensland’s second-largest trading partner with exports worth $19 billion in the 12 months.
