Western Australia
The AIBC Western Australia Chapter plays a pivotal role as a force multiplier in strengthening trade, investment and people-to-people ties between Western Australia and India, aligned with the Australia–India New Economic Roadmap.
As one of Australia’s most India-connected states, Western Australia offers strong opportunities across resources and energy, education, technology, health, agribusiness, infrastructure and sports. AIBC WA provides a platform for businesses, government and institutions to showcase capabilities, share success stories and collaborate across sectors of bilateral importance.
A key focus of the Chapter is supporting awareness and utilisation of the Australia–India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA). Through targeted business engagement, sector-specific forums and stakeholder collaboration, AIBC WA works to reduce market entry barriers, promote ECTA benefits and enable Western Australian businesses to access India’s fast-growing economy, while supporting Indian enterprises operating in WA.
The Chapter also champions broader roadmap priorities, including education and skills mobility, clean energy and sustainability, innovation and digital collaboration, health and advanced manufacturing, and trade and investment facilitation.
A distinctive strength of AIBC WA is its leadership in sports diplomacy, aligned with the Australia–India Sports Memorandum of Understanding. Western Australia’s capabilities in high-performance sport, infrastructure, sports science and events management position it as a natural partner for India’s expanding sports ecosystem.
Through advocacy, partnerships and high-impact engagement, AIBC WA serves as a trusted bridge, supporting deeper and more resilient Australia–India economic ties.
